This morning I got on The Sims Social, and I noticed that my llama investing quest had been set back two steps. I’m now again on the part where you have to Check Your Llama Investing Portfolio in two hours and have one hope. That’s the stage I was in yesterday at 5:00 pm. Why did this reset? What is going on?

The Sims Social: Tip of the Day
If you have a quest where you need to do something multiple times (like call places via the phone several times), don’t use up your energy. Instead, go and visit friends and use their phones. More often than not, you can (though some things like computer usage you might not be able to do this with). It will use up your friend bonus energy for the day, but it will also keep you from running out of your core energy – the stuff that only regains one point once every five minutes.
The Sims Social – Hint of the Day
This morning I was playing The Sims Social on Facebook, and I was going through the supplies I had. I found out that if you complete the cleaning collection, you can craft a sponge. The sponge will reward you with 150 simoleons, but it also gets you +3 energy. Not shabby! I definitely see a point to my sim cleaning up around the house more now.

From Gamasutra: The Sims Social Employs Anti-Social Game Mechanics
Hey guys. I’ve been playing The Sims Social on Facebook for a few days now – not sure if I let you know about that. But over on Google+, a friend of mine linked to this Gamasutra article talking about some of the negatives associated with anti-social game mechanics employed in social games, particularly in The Sims Social. Overall, I agree with the article. I stopped playing Facebook games for the longest while, mostly because I got tired of the crazy wall posts and begging people to come do X, Y, and Z for me in my imaginary world. Looking at The Sims Social, it has a few of those downfalls – on top of the fact that the items are CRAZY expensive when it comes to their costs in real-world cash.
I’ll do a full-write up of my experience with The Sims Social later on this week, but I’d like to know what your take is on this. Do you think that The Sims Social has anti-social game design? What do you think of The Sims Social as a whole? And what’s your take on social gaming’s actual “social” effect as a whole?”
Looking for an Artist
I’m looking for an artist who can do an art style akin to Sailor Moon and “A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives” for a project I’m working on. Let me know if you know anyone who fits the bill.
Going Viral On Google+
If you’re following Sergey Brin, founder of Google, you’ve probably noticed that a bunch of his photos from his Alcedo album (which contains 444 pictures) have been, well… spamming your stream. Someone noted that Sergey posted/put in the pictures during 2006, and that they’re just now appearing in the stream due to comments. As has been noted, when someone comments on your pictures or an old post that you’ve put into Google+, it pushes that to the top of your stream. Continue reading “Going Viral On Google+” »
Zynga Sued by Agincourt Over “Prize Redemption” Patents
Sue happy lawyers strike again! Farmville giant Zynga is being sued by Agincourt gaming over patents related to prize redemption patents. In it they are asking, essentially, for damages and for the courts to shut Zynga down. Now, I’m not a fan of Zynga for a variety of reasons, but honestly, guys: it seems like less and less people are being innovative and instead of making money through their hard work (something it seems a lot of people are wanting to do less of nowadays), they are instead making their money through lawsuits.
What do you think of this situation? Does Agincourt really have a leg to stand on? And what do you think about the recent rash of software patents as a whole?
STOP FEEDING BLACK WOMEN BULLSHIT
This is an angry rant. If you don’t like bad words, you might not want to continue. However, I’ve had it to here with the bullshit stories about black women that I’ve seen popping up this week. I’ve put the text after the break as a precaution. Continue reading “STOP FEEDING BLACK WOMEN BULLSHIT” »
